Dieser Verein ist der älteste Karnevalsverein von Altenberge. Begonnen hat alles 1966, als Lindenstraße, Erlenweg und Birkenweg noch abseits vom Dorfkern lagen. Man fand Kontakt mit den Bewohnern der nahen Laerstraße und der heutigen Theodor-Heuss-Straße. Alle beschlossen etwas Gemeinsames auf die Beine zu stellen. Dabei wurde der Einfall geboren einen Karnevalsverein zu gründen. Initiatoren waren Hildegard Lippsmeier, Adolf Kalthoff sen., Karl-Otto Stüer und August Fasel. Plötzlich war der Name "KG Klein Mauritz" für dieses Gebiet entdeckt, angelehnt an den Karnevalsverein "Groß Mauritz" aus Münster. Um das Karnevalsfest finanzieren zu können, verkaufte man die Eintrittskarten im Vorverkauf an den Haustüren. Die Karten kosteten damals 2,50 DM. Den Saal stellte Karl-Otto Stüer zur Verfügung mit samt der kompletten Beschmückung. Schon beim ersten Fest gab es einen Eigenheimer als Büttenredner: Karl Markmann. Ab 1969 hatte der Verein auch dann ihre Mottos (auf der nächsten Seite zu sehen). Das Vereinslokal ist auch heute noch Hotel-Restaurant Stüer, Inhaber Peter Stüer. (Laerstraße 6-8 / Altenberge).
